IDEA Fund

The IDEA Fund supports University efforts and provides leadership to ensure that the values of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access are prevalent in the University community. In 2018, Reflections was awarded the IDEA Fund Marcus L. Martin Endorsed Award, an award given to projects dedicated to sparking institutional change in the aforementioned areas.

Virginia humanities

Founded in 1974, Virginia Humanities is a state humanities council sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The goal of Virginia Humanities is to tell stories of all Virginians, connecting them to their own stories, history, and culture, and ultimately to each other.

WTJU

WTJU-FM is a noncommercial educational radio station that presents original, rich, and diverse programming of music and other forms of expression free from the direct constraints of commercial interests, reflecting the broadest educational goals of the University. WTJU has provided technological and training support for the Reflections interview collection process.

UVA Bicentennial Fund

The University of Virginia’s Bicentennial is celebrating 200 years of University history, and envisioning the 200 years to come. The Bicentennial has supported Reflections, among a variety of other projects, in an advisory and monetary capacity.

institute for advanced technology in the humanities

IATH is a research unit of the University of Virginia dedicated to exploring and developing information technology as a tool for scholarly humanities research. IATH is the official host of Reflections and acts in an advisory capacity.

uva alumni association

The Alumni Association partnered with the project in 2018, hosting its pilot interview cycle and providing initial research on oral history initiatives at peer institutions. In 2019, the project partnered with the Association again to collect interviews at Black Alumni Weekend and May Reunions.

DARDEN School of business - Office of engagement

The Office of Engagement at the Darden School host alumni for a reunion each year, and since 2018 staff and current Darden students have researched and collected histories for the project.

School of Nursing Eleanor Crowder Bjoring Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry

Established at the University of Virginia in 1991 to support historical scholarship in nursing. Dedicated to the preservation and study of nursing history, the Bjoring Center collects historical materials, promotes nursing history scholarship, and disseminates historical research findings. They support ‘Reflections’ in an advisory capacity.
