Still We Rise
The First podcast from reflections
Still We Rise released in Fall of 2020. We want to use this platform to give members of the UVA community an opportunity to share their personal reflections on the deaths of black people at the hands of police and white supremacists, and/or the state of racial injustice in this country or within our community. While we cannot guarantee selection for a podcast episode, we plan to showcase all submitted stories on our website.
Motivated by constant reminders of racial injustice. Reflections: Oral Histories at UVa has been moved to create a podcast exploring race, equality, and equity at the University of Virginia over the last half-century with the intention of initiating profound, provocative, and ongoing dialogue about racial injustice within our university community. By taking a close look at where we have come from, we can do the difficult work of creating a better future.

Tell your story…
Our mission is to showcase diverse narratives, but in order to do that our story-telling process needs to be accessible. We invite you to self-submit your reflections to the projects below, and our team will contact you shortly thereafter with a confirmation message.
The format for self-submissions is a short audio clip and complementary photograph. We may follow up for a longer-form interview.
When recording your audio please be sure to find a quiet area to reduce as much ambient noise as possible. Keep your submissions to a maximum of 7 minutes.
